The early series Opel GT came from the factory with 18 mounting holes for the rear trim.
The late series Opel GT then had only 10 mounting holes.
Time is money ! Presumably this change was a suggestion from someone at the factory.
Because this fiddling work was still done by hand and not by a production robot.
